Easy Summer Dress for Under $30

Transitioning from in the office 5 days a week to now working from home 5 days a week has brought on many changes - and challenges - especially when it comes to wardrobe. I find myself wanting to be comfortable, but still looking put together (at least from the waist up!) as most of my calls are with video. Plus, with not much to look forward to on a day to day basis, getting dressed and having a routine has helped me keep some normalcy as the days go by.

BUT, I've found myself needing different items than what I actually had in my closet. I ordered 5 short sleeve blouses from Nordstrom which were great to throw on with a pair of shorts, especially on hotter days. But, in an effort to simplify things even more, I wanted to find some comfortable, short sleeved dresses that I could literally throw on and wear right until the end of the day. I totally SCORED when I found this dress on Amazon. Hesitant about quality, I don't normally buy clothes from Amazon, but thought I'd give it a shot. I was SO impressed!  Not only is the dress comfortable, it's versatile in how you can wear it. I bought it in basic black and then a blue and white pattern. I think I may purchase one more, because it's just THAT good. I bought a size medium, but think I could do a small. What I love about this dress is I can wear it as a beach cover up, out to dinner, to work - there really are so many options. Especially with the black one, which you can jazz up with colors and accessories.

Here's a close up of the dress - love the ruffle detailing on the bottom and the brown wooden buttons.

I love mixing black and anything camel/brown/tan. Here I've cinched the waist with a belt and added a pair of summer sandals for an easy day look.

Adding a pop of color is a great way to also add some excitement to this piece. I've paired it with our beaded clutch and these sandals, which are a designer knock off at a fraction of the price!

As mentioned, I also bought this dress in this blue/white pattern. Throwing a jean jacket on over this would be a great way to transition this piece into fall, too. I've added my favorite wedges for a more dressed up daytime look.

I didn't even get to accessorizing this piece yet because I was so excited to throw it on, but any simple gold pieces would be my go to. Any of our gold hoops, especially our Kell Hoop or Julia Hoop, would be my choice for earrings. As for bracelets, you could throw on a stack of colored gemstones with the black dress, or our Brooklyn Beaded with either for a simple look.

Hope you love this piece just as much as I do - tag us @stephiechic if you end up getting it!
